It was sooooo hot today

Today was Terry's first day in Singapore.  Of course, he was awake early because of the jet lag even though it was after 2am when we got back to the apartment.  We headed out to do some exploring in Chinatown.  I thought that we would start slow, take the MRT, explore Chinatown and have some lunch.  It was really hot out today - 31 degrees Celsius.  The weather network says feels like 44 degrees!  We had lunch in the Maxwell Food Centre - a hawker centre where you can find lots of stalls that sell inexpensive food.  It was really crowded and we sat at a table with a couple from Singapore.  The lady was complaining about the heat today so I didn't feel so bad about being so uncomfortable!  It was definitely a "red face" day for me.

We walked through the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple.  It is a buddhist temple that was built to house the tooth relic of the buddha.

We continued our walk through the streets of Chinatown - you can get just about anything you want here including a new suit made.  Too hot for getting clothes made today!

Finally back to the apartment and for a swim!  The pool is a saving grace in the heat.
Day two tomorrow - the Singapore Flyer and a tour of Singapore.
Thanks for stopping by.
